Can the pots withstand frost Can I use the pots in winter?

Almost all Ecopots pots are great for year-round use, except for the smallest mini pots (8-19cm). For outdoor use, it is very important to remember to remove the bottom plug so that excess water can leave the pot. If the bottom plug is not removed for the winter, the excess water cannot leave the pot and when it freezes, it expands and splits the pot. The warranty does not cover if the breakage is caused by a bottom plug that has been closed during the winter.

---

Do all Ecopots have a rubber stopper at the bottom? Yes, all models except the Amsterdam Mini series, Oslo Mini, Venice and Stockholm have a plug at the bottom, so you can use them both indoors and outdoors. We recommend removing the plug for both indoor use (with a plate) and outdoor use, so that excess water can drain away. When used outdoors, the rubber plug should always be removed in winter to avoid frost damage.

---

Can I remove the plug at the bottom? Yes you can! The plug can be removed from pots from our 2018 or earlier collection as described below. The pots in our 2019 and newer collections have a screw cap that can be removed simply by twisting. You can determine which collection your pot is from by looking at the barcode: The last four numbers represent the month and year of manufacture (so 0618 is June n2018).We recommend removing the plug for both indoor use (with a plate) and outdoor use, so that excess water can drain away. When used outdoors, the rubber plug should always be removed in winter to avoid frost damage.

How do I remove the bottom plug from the pot? Almost all of our flower pots have a black rubber stopper at the bottom of the pot. This plug can be removed for outdoor use so that excess water can drain away. To remove this plug, take a blunt object (such as a flat screwdriver) and a hammer. Place the pot bottom side up on a firm, flat surface, then place a blunt object over the plug and tap it with a hammer. The plug is attached quite firmly, so don't be too careful, it should come off. Do not throw away the plug, you may want to use it again in the future! We recommend removing the plug for both indoor use (with a plate) and outdoor use to allow excess water to drain. When used outdoors, the rubber plug should always be removed in winter to avoid frost damage.

Do I need a saucer with my pot? When you have an Ecopots pot with a rubber stopper at the bottom and you plan to use your flower pot inside, we recommend using a plate with the flower pot. Although our pots are almost 100% sealed, we cannot guarantee that water will not leak through and the water might mess up your lovely carpet or real wood floor. So for indoor use it is best to always use a coaster just to be safe.

---

How do I prepare to use Ecopots Venice? Using Venice is very simple! First remove the screw so that the pot itself can be removed from the saucer. Then you add potting soil to the pot, plant the plant and water from the bottom of the saucer. The plant absorbs the water it needs. You can also place Venice outside and it works just as perfectly. Just check from time to time if there is still enough water in the dish. That's it!

Are Ecopots recyclable? Of course they are! Did you know that Ecopots are actually made from recycled plastic (up to 80%, the highest percentage on the market today) But you don't have to think about recycling Ecopots just yet, as they easily last over 10 years. However, you can be sure that when they finally reach the end of their life, they can be completely recycled.

---

Are the pots completely 100% waterproof? Most are, but not all. Some flower pots have a rubber stopper at the bottom of the pot, and even if it is tight, it may leak water. We therefore recommend using a coaster whenever your flower pot has a rubber stopper.

---

What material are the pots made of? Ecopots are made of recycled plastic. Single-use plastic is increasingly becoming a global problem, polluting the world's oceans. One way to deal with this is to find a good way to reuse these plastics, like we do with our pots (we use up to 80% recycled plastic in our pots). But more importantly; We all have a responsibility together to prevent plastic from becoming waste. That's why Ecopots are timeless in their design and colors (you won't find trendy and funky colors and shapes from us) and their lifespan is more than 10 years. We believe that the most durable products are the ones you don't want to have to replace every year due to breakage or changing trends.

Where are Ecopots made? Our flower pots are made in Asia, where we have our own production facilities. The main reason for this is that all Ecopots have a distinctive, handmade finish, which would be impossible to do cost-effectively, for example, if made in Europe or the USA. Are you concerned about the environmental impact of Asian production? We too! Ecopots is a certified CO2-neutral company and all our products are CO2-neutral. We guarantee the use of recycled materials and good working conditions at our factory.

What do Ecopots in pots cost? There are many plastic flower pots on the market today and some even use recycled plastic. However, no other pot uses the same amount and the same quality of recycled plastic as we do. All Ecopots also feature a distinctive, handmade finish that gives the pots a unique look and feel. Our flower pots are the closest to pots made of concrete or natural stone, but they have all the advantages of plastic flower pots, such as durability, lightness and frost resistance. Simply put, Ecopots is a quality product with durable features and cannot be compared in any way to the cheap plastic pots that flood many markets today.
